Dedicating a picnic table at your favorite park or beach makes a perfect and enduring gift for a graduation, birthday, or memorial to a loved one.

Apr. 23, 2024—With graduations, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day coming up, not to mention birthdays and other special occasions, now is the perfect time to consider celebrating with a gift that’s hard to beat for its meaningfulness while providing a great service to your favorite California State Park.
The Tribute Tables program is a collaboration between California State Parks and Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks. Picnic tables are a staple item at most state parks and beaches, and they get a lot of use. The program provides a way to replace aging tables while offering park supporters an opportunity to leave their personal touch on a favorite location with a message engraved into the cross-timber of the table.
But wait, why is Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks involved up the Peninsula? You might be surprised to learn that, despite its name, Friends not only supports Santa Cruz County but is a significant partner of State Parks in coastal San Mateo County, along with the Coastside State Parks Association. Proceeds from Tribute Table dedications benefit local state parks and beaches.
Tribute Tables are currently available at:
- Ano Nuevo State Park
- Burleigh Murray Ranch State Park
- Butano State Park
- Castle Rock State Park*
- Half Moon Bay State Beach
- Montara State Beach
- Pomponio State Beach
- Portola Redwoods State Park
- San Gregorio State Beach
* In Santa Cruz County but a stone’s throw from Silicon Valley
