Candelabra Tree Trail

In the mood to search for an incredible multi-trunked old growth redwood tree? You’re in luck!

Ano Nuevo Trail —> Candelabra Trail

From park headquarters, take the Ano Nuevo Trail and turn right when it intersects with the Candelabra Trail. The Candelabra Tree is unmarked, but distinctly recognizable by its huge 20-foot circumference that splits into five individual trunks. There is a trail turnoff leading to the Candelabra’s clearing less than a mile from Gazos Creek Road. If you reach the road you’ve gone too far. This section of land was only added to the park in 2008. (Gazos Creek Road also connects to Big Basin State Park and its expansive network of trails.)
