Join Peninsula Open Space Trust and Grassroots Ecology for a community event to restore California habitat at Pearson-Arastradero Preserve.
Volunteers will be sheet mulching (a weed management technique) along Arastradero Creek to prepare a new site for planting this upcoming winter. This will involve shoveling and moving mulch with wheelbarrows and buckets. This event will involve lifting, digging, carrying, bending, and walking on uneven terrain.
Pearson-Arastradero Preserve has expansive oak woodlands and grasslands with beautiful trees and wildflowers and is home to an abundance of wildlife, including deer, bobcats, coyotes, and many species of birds and insects.
