Marine Science Institute

A lot of environmentalists and environmental scientists attribute the passion fueling their life’s work to meaningful childhood experiences. Catching tadpoles, poking around tidepools or sleeping out under the stars can lead to a lifetime of Earth-considering decisions. The Marine Science Institute is taking this optimistic assumption and running with it.

The Institute seeks to get kids’ hands dirty, and wet, by getting them out on the Bay. The hope is that direct interaction with the natural world will take the intimidation out of science, spark curiosity and creative thinking, and cultivate a sense of responsibility for the natural environment and our human communities. Good on them. Learn more at Marine Science Institute.
