You may be passing by hidden treasures every time you go on a hike! Docents Sarah Schoen and Padma Satish and an REI instructor will lead a 2.5-mile geocache search at Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve. Learn how to locate geocaches using GPS devices supplied by REI (or bring your own) and enjoy the beautiful trails of the Santa Cruz Mountains above Palo Alto.
Geocaching involves some off-trail hiking, so make sure to wear long pants. Bring small trinkets to exchange for the prizes you find. This activity is for kids who can hike 2.5 miles or more.
Reservations required; register here. Meet at the Russian Ridge OSP parking lot, northwest corner of Skyline Boulevard (Hwy 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Rd.
