Tarantula Fest and BBQ

Date:

Sat, 10/03/2015 - 10:00

Relax. You won't be eating the large hairy arachnids at this festival and feast, just appreciating them. The mighty tarantula makes its home in this part of the Diablo Range, so the Pine Ridge Association celebrates it annually with a day of all things tarantula. Order your home-cooked barbecue meal in advance and enjoy your meal at the park's gorgeous and scenic headquarters. Stroll with a volunteer naturalist, go geocaching, create tarantula-themed keepsakes and enjoy live music by a jug band, You can also win prizes ranging from a tarantula pinata to wine and dinner gift certificates in the extensive raffle.

Henry Coe State Park Visitor Center, 9100 East Dunne Ave, Morgan Hill. 10am-4pm. Free to attend, but parking is $8 per car. Pre-order your BBQ steak, chicken, burger or hot dog right here.
